This policy explains what personal data Hotel Santa Bárbara (Calle 71 con Av. 3G, sector La Lago, Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela) collects through hotel-santa-barbara.com, why we use it and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- When you book: name, phone, email, ID card or passport number, dates, number of guests and any comments you leave.
- When you report a payment: method, amount, currency and reference number. We never ask for or store bank passwords or card numbers.
- If you create an account: name, email, phone (optional), your password (stored encrypted; no one at the hotel can see it) and whether you accept promotional emails.
- Technical data: IP address and browser type when you sign in and in the site’s security logs.
How we use it
- To manage your booking, verify your payments and get ready for your arrival.
- To email you about your booking and account: confirmation, a reminder before arrival, email verification and password recovery.
- To meet the hotel’s legal obligations, such as guest registration and accounting.
- To protect the site and your account against fraud and unauthorized access.
- To send you hotel offers, only if you agreed. You can opt out at any time from My account.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your data. We only share it with:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts the site and sends our emails.
- Google, when you open the Location page: the map is loaded by Google Maps and governed by Google’s privacy policy.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there.
- Venezuelan authorities, when required by law.
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The Google Maps embed may set its own cookies.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept as long as the hotel’s accounting and legal obligations require. Account data is kept while the account exists. Technical security logs are kept for a limited time.
How we protect it
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted, and hotel staff only see what their role needs. Every staff action on bookings and payments is logged.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it or delete it, and withdraw consent to promotional emails, as recognized by Article 28 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. You can edit your details in My account. For anything else, write to us and we will reply within a reasonable time. Some booking records may have to be kept by law.
Minors
Bookings and accounts must be made by adults. Data about minors staying with an adult is used only for guest registration.
